Two of Mantinga’s bakery innovations – the Crookie“ pastry and Frytastic“ pizzas adapted for air fryers – were recognized at the international PLMA 2025 trade show for their marketing concept and consumer convenience. These products will be showcased this month in one of the exhibitions most prestigious and visited zones, the New Product Expo – Idea Supermarket.

“This kind of recognition, when our products are selected from thousands of products worldwide and displayed alongside the strongest and most renowned global brands, helps us strengthen our position in existing markets and enhances our potential for new partnership opportunities throughout Europe and beyond,” says Ramunė Puzinienė, Head of New Product Development at Mantinga.

The annual exhibition, held in the Netherlands since 1986, is organized by the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA). The event continues to grow each year and last year it featured over 3,000 companies from more than 70 countries and attracted over 15,000 visitors.

Awarded Products – Innovations in the Bakery Market

The “Crookie” pastry recognized at the exhibition is an innovation in the bakery market introduced this spring – a combination of a croissant and an American-style cookie, which combines a buttery cookie dough filling with crispy croissant dough layers.

“This is a global innovation created to meet the expectations of Generation Z and modern, Instagram-friendly trends. It is the first pastry of its kind adapted for large-scale production, developed using sustainable technologies and responsibly selected raw materials to ensure a reduced environmental impact,” says R. Puzinienė.

The other awarded product is a square-shaped pizza adapted specifically for air fryer cooking. According to data from the Innova Database, air fryers are among the fastest-growing categories of kitchen appliances. Already in 2023, the global air fryer market had already exceeded one billion USD, with annual sales increasing by almost a tenth every year.

“The pizzas are produced using only green energy and technologies that help reduce energy consumption. They are packed in recycled packaging and ready to eat in just 8 minutes. The recyclable packaging contains two flavor options: one with beef, mozzarella, and mushrooms, and the other with chicken kebab, mozzarella, and vegetables,” explains R. Puzinienė.

About 90 New and Popular Products to Be Presented at the Exhibition

This year, Mantinga – returning to the exhibition for more than the tenth time – will present around 90 products, including a buttery croissant with lavender cream, sour-flavored and energy drink–flavored donuts, various types of bread, savory pastries, and more.

“The Netherlands, where the exhibition takes place, is among the top ten export countries for Mantinga. We export pizza snacks, croissants, donuts, empanadas, and sweet buns to this market and introduce new products every year,” says R. Puzinienė.

Mantinga is the largest producer of bread, snacks, and frozen products in the Baltic States. Each year, it introduces around 100 new products to the market, many of which find their customer base. In total, Mantinga's assortment consists of over 1,000 different products, and its products are exported to more than 40 countries worldwide – primarily to the Baltic and Scandinavian countries, but also reaching such distant countries as Japan and Korea.
